CAPSL New Shooter Policy
Posted: August 17, 2014

Because of the increase of new shooters, a change of policy for new shooters has been established. If you have never shot an action pistol event before, i.e USPSA, IPSC, IDPA, Steel Challenge, Cowboy Action, ICORE, etc. you will need to go through some sort of orientation class before being allowed to compete at Capitol Practical Shooters League matches.

Junior shooters must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The requirement for the orientation class can be either the junior shooter or the responsible adult.

The Solano Targetmasters puts on an introduction to USPSA/IPSC style shooting on an as needed basis. More information about the introduction class can be found on the Solano Targetmasters web site at the following:

The Richmond Hot Shots also puts on a Safe Handgun Competitor class. More information about the class can be found on the Richmond Hot Shots web site at the following:

The Sacramento Defensive Pistol Shooters also puts on an Intro to IDPA Clinic. More information about the clinic can be found on the Sacramento Defensive Pistol Shooters web site at the following:
