The status of the
upcoming steel matches will displayed on this page. If the weather looks like
there may be a possibility of canceling the match, the status will be listed as
tentative. The range will be checked on the Saturday before the match and a
decision made. The status will be updated as early Saturday evening as possible.

Match Schedule
The Sacramento Valley Steel Shooters holds a Steel Challenge type match on the 3rd Sunday of each month, March through October, except in August when the match will be on the 2nd Sunday (weekend prior to the actual Steel Challenge).
Divisions are available for Open, Limited, IDPA, Cowboy, Iron Sight Revolver, and .22.
Registration usually opens around 8:30.
Shooter meeting about
9:00.
Shooting starts immediately after the shooter meeting.

Matches are held at the Action Pistol range of the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center, southeast of Sacramento between Rancho Murieta and Latrobe.

More Information
This year we will be shooting 7 stages each month. You will need a minimum of 170 rounds to complete the match. Bring at least 250 rounds to be safe, 300 would be better. In order to shoot seven stages, it will be necessary to rearrange three of the stages midway through the match. Any competitors unable to make it to the match before the first rotation will receive a DNF for the stages missed. Because of the way we will be running the matches, we are limiting the number of guns a competitor can compete with to two. Also to keep squads moving at the same pace we will be balancing the number of competitors with two guns in each squad.
An eighth stage, Accelerator, was added to the Steel Challenge in 2006. We will be swapping this stage with Pendulum every other month.
